Millburn is a township in Essex County, NJ.
The township is comprised of a town center and adjoining residential sections, but it also encompasses the area to the north and west widely known as Short Hills, which is mainly a luxury residential suburb. Millburn comprises the historic Wyoming district, and South Mountain and Millburn Center areas. Millburn’s town center boasts a sizable downtown shopping district, augmented by the extensive upscale shopping available at the Mall at Short Hills. Millburn is also home to the famed Paper Mill Playhouse.
Millburn is primarily a residential suburb. A large number of its residents commute to work to New York City or Newark. Midtown Direct rail service (train stations in Downtown Millburn and Short Hills), easy access to major highways and close proximity to Newark International Airport make these communities a commuter’s delight.
